Thanks everyone...
At last I was able to book it. We need to complete all the steps in order to get the page for selecting dates. Problem I had was..while filling up ds157, I use to see the code script:).
I had used the same website earlier but never had to lose patience like this time.
Once I finished giving the courier details , I was presented with date selection. Also why do they take petitioner details...??..I had to give my I797 details...??I hope they do all the required checking before I visit them.
Here are the tips while using the online appointment.
1. Don't expect the process to be smooth. Set aside 1-1.5 hours for filling the form.
2. Use IE only and make sure you enable pop ups for the vfs website.
3. After you complete all the 3 steps(DS156,157 and petitioner details) you will be presented with date selection.
Citinri and vsf website are the worst website I have seen ever since I started to browse�.(more than a decade)

For the experts on this board, my H1 expires on 9/30/07. Should I wait till after Aug. 17 to qualify for a 3-year extension?

if you qualified and filed for 485 depending on your PD, you most probably will get only 1 year extension. I just filed mine May 29th for 3 years and filed my 485 June 8th but when approved I got my H1 extension approved only for 1 year. I may be wrong, just referencing what my lawyer said..

Your exp. MUST be before you joined the petitioning company.
Lawyer seems to care only about getting fees.
I spoke with my lawyer again and he said that we are fine using the experience on my current job. The company that is petitioning my application is where I got most of the experience mentioned in my labor. What do you recommend I do at this point ?
I will try and talk to another lawyer and get their views on this issue. Can I retain my priority date and file under perm at this stage. I am so stressed, I waited four years for my labor and it is about to go to hell. :mad:

Adding to the scenario above, what if the old company (which got I-140 approval) agrees to continue the GC process? In that case, can't we apply for H1 extension with Company B using approved I-140 with Company A? After all, GC is a future employment application

Make sure that you work for your new employer only on a h-1. That way your spouse can be on h4. As for using AC21, in your case it is for continuing your I-485 processing and not for working for a different company. Make sure that you file your wife's 485 as soon as your dates become current. Hope that clears your doubts. (Also Don't use your email id as your user id. That is a sure shot way of getting plenty of spam)
sundarpn, you don't need any documents from your previous employer to file your dependent's I-485.

Hi All,
I have got fingerprint notice and appointment is after 3 weeks in Charlotte NC. I will not be available on that day and do not want to postpone the appointment.
I would like to prepone the appointment and I tried to find Charlotte USCIS local phone number but could not find anywhere. The only number is general 800 number and that was of no use.
Does anyone have any experience with Charlotte office? Can I just go there and will they do fingerprint any day before actual appointment? Charlotte is around 4 hours drive. It will be painful to drive there and find that they don't do fingerprint before appointment day. What day is normally good if I want to take the chance? Have anyone actually called them and prepone the appointment? What is the local office phone number?
These are two many questions. But all are related. Sorry for being so long and thanks in advance for your response...

Notice of Action that you received tells you things to be done in case you want to change your biometric appointment. Though I am not sure but vaguely remember you have to contact USCIS directly if you want the change. Hope this helps

I just asked my attorney if she had a direct contact with Mr. Opperheim, the person responsible for VB. If she does respond, I will provide the address / email here. I am writing to them. It does not make any sense. My opinion is that they are giving USCIS a December brake now. If the 485 report released by USCIS is true and reliable, the RoW dates for Dec should have been moved to mid or end of 2003 now.

Hello Friends,
Thanks for your time and for the suggestion. Some good news, we went back to the airport - got hold of the trolley folks (where my father had misplaced his passport pouch) and there were some really friendly folks who helped us locate the pouch from Lost and Found department. This happened in JFK.

If you can you should move up to EB2.
Even if it is file your spouse's I-485, what moving up means is you both can be free out of this mess.
There is no guarantee with PD dates for EB3-India moving to Dec 2001. It has not touched that date ever since retrogression was introduced. Go figure. BTW, USCIS still thinks there are thousands and thousands of apps filed before Dec 2001.

PD Transfer can even be done @ i-485 stage too, but that's not as straight a process as porting it at the I-140 stage. But technically, it can be done at I-485 too.

In my case I have only one LUD after fingerprinting and then on 30 Nov 2007
again LUD I485 Card production ordered.
same with my spouse also.
Onething I noticed is that most people who are getting approvals, they all have completed their finger printing on or before Aug.

4/3's?? Hard to say..... It's certainly going to get a following. But it's limited compared to where larger Sensors will go ultimately.. Certainly the E1 is a NICE image machine.

Certainly a vast majority of them are in the US with the intent to immigrate in the long term. If they spend the same amount of money for comparable education in Canada, Europe or Australia, they will never face the lousy and frustrating US immigration situation! Under the update July 2007 VB, visa number was unable for the entire July 2007. It remained such until July 17, 2007 when both DOS and USCIS reversed their positions. There could be some 104(c) H-1B three-year extension petitions filed in July bore the 17th. Since the July 2007 VB has been reversed and remains "current" in July, it will remain a challenging issue for these filers. Those who file after July 17, 2007 and before August 1, 2007 may not be entitled to the benefit of 104(c) extension. Accordingly, those who need three-year extension under 104(c) should not file the H-1B extension until after August 1, 2007 to obtain three year extension, even though they will have to pay the increased filing of $320 rather than the current $190. In August, the EB visa number will remain "unavailable" for the entire EB classifications, presenting the best opportunity to file such 104(c) three-year increment H-1B extension petition. What a twist and irony of the development of events?

Today i got an alert form USCIS that the pending 485s (for my wife and myself) have been transferred from NSC to TSC. Wanted to see if others with 485s pending at NSC have seen similar action.
My priority date is Oct 2005 and my 485 has been pending at NSC since July 2007.
Since TSC is almost current in processing I-485 applications, it could be that NSC might be transferring some applications to lower their I-485 pending case load.

I changed my job 6 months ago on EAD, my 485 is still pending, i have not yet informed USCIS about it and may or may not do so in future. There is no law/regulation that says we must do so. I believe US law works on common sense rather than word-to-word written in the law books. So in general i want to draw a line for myself as to how much i should be afraid of USCIS. I would rather risk my GC than worrying about the chances of my every little action affecting my GC. But that's just me.
some of my friends keep the engine running for 2 minutes before start driving, i was never convinced this is good for the car. I would rather junk my Honda few thousand miles early than wasting 2 min(plus gas). Again that's just me.

I wondered what the first would look like if the background (horizon) were hidden. Then you did exactly that in the second one. I think I like it better when you can see more of the background. Without that, I found myself wondering what the fence was hiding. I thought more about what wasn't there than about what was.
The third is my favorite with a nice blend of colors as a backdrop for a story of numerous dead parts that used to be a functional whole.
I found the green grass distracting in the last image. After thinking about it for a while, I decided it was a story of a structure at the end of its life. The green grass seemed out of place because it was too alive and too close. Similar comment on the white (ceramic?). Everything else is worn, faded, rusted. Not sure if that makes sense. But the only life in the picture is way out on the horizon, far removed from this remote graveyard.
I like the setting. It reminds me of chasing pheasants in Iowa.

I do not understand this part- I am working on H1-B, why should I keep my EAD current, by paying my own fees?

This lawsuit is about the 140000 visas been given out each year and in years 2008 and 2009.
There have been many people who received GCs in 2008 and 2009 in EB2 without regard to Priority number. Check Visa Bulletins from August 2008 and September 2008. People from 2006 were given GCs over 2004 and there was total chaos.
This lawsuit is to bring justice to the last three years of absolute anarchy.
This lawsuit is to bring in line how this 140000 number is distributed. How does processing of I-485s take place in USCIS.
I think Indian EB3 will join shortly.
Why are you stopping at 2007? Issues stared much before that.
Why do you forget the getting details of each and every VISA that was issued between 2003 and 2007 (days of backlog elimination center)? We hae a right to know that. I doubt EB based guys got benefit out of it....I do not think USCIS /DOS will ever reveal those numbers truthfully and even with 50% accuracy....
They just put almost every True Employment based applicant in backlog and gave GCs to 245i....I dont think that was justice. That was manipulation
