I am working for Company A on a full time basis on H1B and part-time with Company B(non-profit) on a concurrent H1B. I filed for my GC with Company A and I-140 is approved and applied for I-485 and got EAD/AP also.
My H1B with Company B is expiring and the 6 year term will end on December 31, 2009. I am planning to apply for H1B extension for this H1B and the company attorney says I can get it extended based on Company A I-140 because it is a concurrent H1B. How far is this true? Can I extend my Company B H1B based on the approval on Company A H1B?

Wondering if a little something when filing my taxes will backfire on me when filing I-140/485.
I'm single/no dependents but for past 4 yrs or so when filing taxes have showed 2 dependents for child tax credit (no earned income credit applied for)....my niece/nephew. My bro had full knowledge and he had suggested as due to his status in US, he is not required to file taxes. Sis in law not working, so not filing taxes. So i used to do that....
It won't come to bite me right???? ok i am never doing this from now on but is it too late for me. Obviously on my immigation forms i will show no dependents etc as i have none...
any advice.....

The Part 3 of form I-539 is asking below questions:
1. I/We request that my/our current or requested status be extended until***** (mm/dd/yyyy): __________
Here, actually, I'm applying for change of status & not extension. Should I write N/A or the I-94 expiry date of my spouse's H1 petition?
2. Is this application based on an extension or change of status already granted to your spouse, child, or parent?
Here, should I say Yes or No??

The key might be that your current employer should be able to give you some kind of letter that details your job duties, etc.
If this letter can allude to the duties in your original labor that's all your attorney would need to make your case.

No you are not required to file a separate petition for your husband. When your sister files the I-130, she needs to put your husband's name on the same form.
When you file DS-230, Each family member that is eligible to travel to the United States with you under this visa classification is required to complete the DS-230 Part I. So separate DS-230 are required for you and your husband.
1. If you are a U.S.citizen you must file a separate Form I-130 for each eligible relative. You may file a Form I-130 for:
A. Your husband or wife;
B. Your unmarried child under age 21;
C. Your unmarried son or daughter age 21 or older;
D. Your married son or daughter of any age;
E. Your brother(s) or sister(s) (you must be age 21 or older);

My parents are planning to go for a visa interview. What is difference between me inviting them to visit me versus they applying as tourists. I understand that if they apply as tourists they need to provide documents showing that they can support themselves.
Will coming as a tourist diminish the possibility of getting 10 year multiple entry visa. Any thoughts on this issue is much appreciated.

Today my lawyer sent me my receipt numbers for 485, EAD and AP. when I enter my AP receipt number to check online status I see the following...
Application Type: OS155A, IMMIGRANT VISA AND ALIEN REGISTRATION
Current Status: Card production ordered.
On August 30, 2007, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.
Anyone know what this means... It doesn't say I-131 in application type..
Second disturbing thing I noticed when I entered my 485 number...
Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS
Current Status: Fingerprint fee rejected and notice mailed; case in suspense.
On August 23, 2007, we rejected your fingerprint fee and mailed you instructions for how to submit the necessary payment. This case is now in suspense. Please submit your payment with our notice as soon as possible after you receive our notice so we may resume processing of this case.
My lawyer says the checks have been cashed and we have proof of this.. She says it can be a typo..
Most weird part is for my EAD it says card has been ordered.. but I haven't even done finger prints and my 485 is in suspense..

Hello, I am an INdian citizen currently workin in the US on an H1-B visa. I need to travel to Europe for leisure in the month of April. I wanted to go to the Bern Consulate to go and get the stamping done for my H1-B renewal on my passport. I wanted to ask if anyone has gone to Bern to get their H1-B stamped and can share their experience?
Also, do you recommend that I go to Canada or Mexico instead? I have heard ppl saying that you should go to your home country or Mexico/CAnada. ANy experiences that you can share with the Canadaian/Mexican US consulates would be appreciated as well.
