I was looking at the recent forum posts and there was no discussions about EB3 listed. Thought would "BUMP" this to bring the EB3 plight on the top...
Felt EB3 category looked like a lost category, when the EB2 approvals was at the top all the time in our recent forums...:mad:

Just in, Obama Administration wants to change law allowing employee to sue past employers and seek compensation. Current laws allows employee to sue for events up to 24 months in the past. This will change and suing employer is going to be a lot more easier. Bring it on baby, this time employees will be millionaires by suing body-shoppers. I am no longer going waste my money to buy lottery ticket :p

Theres an enforcement only bill that increases the h1 cap to 130000. Ofcourse enforcement doesnt include making sure the EB quota is used every year - not that enforcement.

Actually, not all he said was wrong.
We should not support what these IT consulting companies are doing with H1B programme just because we are on H1. These big companies are hoarding H1B visas so they can have an upperhand when dealing with the employees.
My own employer was trying to get as many H1s as possible without having ANY work for them.
This is also due to the fact that because even they have no work for all the H1B employees, they file for H1Bs in bulk, for they know that they don't have to pay people on bench, even though by law they are supposed to...
But most importantly we are concerned with visa recapture and GC reform in the long run..If H1B reform is the step towards that goal then that would be good..

It took me around 4 years. EB2 India, started as a scientist later physician and endless headaches ...... but its over now. Got my card yesterday. Its an amazing stress relief and confidence booster.
I could have tried EB1 too but wasnt sure how it would turn out hence stuck to EB2.

For some odd reason I got a red on this forum. I dont know who did that and why. But I dont care.....
For those who are waiting: Keep pushing and thinking of new ways of making this work. if you are EB3 try to become EB2 and even EB1. In the end all that matters is getting the card.

I am an IV old timer and I was wondering where the IV old timers were?

How many core IV members have already received their GCs besides Aman, just curious?
Of late is there anything of note even happening on the lobbying front? IV seems to have become another Immigration Portal kinda website where people are now posting all sorts of info, some of it not even immigration related.
It would be nice if someone in the core team updated the rest of us, who cannot join the state chapters due to personal reasons on the website.

Just to let you know - State Chapters are no extra burden or whatsoever. State chapter is just a verified list of dedicated IV members just like you who wholeheartedly support IV.
State chapters go a long way into building IV as a strong and credible organization.
Through State chapters we are able to identify new leaders, new ideas and better support through mutual trust.
If I were you, I would not be too worried about some earlier leaders who are not active. IV is a volunteer organization and every member brings in some value to the organization in his/her own way.
Old leaders pave way to new leaders and organizations grows and stay strong. IV is full of volunteers and anyone can volunteer to help in the community effort, so if you are interested, contact your state chapter and get going.

In the EB base, only 1 GC is counted for all family members. How can it count more than one if it is a derivative of an employment visa? It might count against the Family base even though primary applicant is EB-based. Not the other way around.
If they dont count Dependents we all get GCs very soon . Unfortunately all dependents even kids are counted under employement category ..
One change - Counting a number for primary applicant can change thousands of lifes each year .

May be they think that if they are kind enough to study BS/MS that autiomatically entitles them to such jobs and they need not to put up any extra mental effort to learn some functional stuff .

We need to do something that catches the attention of the media; just getting more members and more funds may not be enough. We need to write letters to editors of major newspapers like NYTIMES and WASH POST.

I think you missed my point...we need more members because you can't get any one's time if you just want them to do something for you. You have to be prepared to do something for them. For us, when we become citizens, we need to vote. Now do you see why political parties look for numbers?

Last I checked, I had namecheck pending too and it was pending for more than 6 months..
I can take up an Infopass to find out if its still pending.
If it is pending for more than 2 yrs, what are the next steps?
(Obviously 485 won't get approved if name check is pending)

can someone draft a template like the nurses letter to congress for us with subject "Please provider retrogression relief for Employment Based Immigrants." and the body of the letter with the provisions and proposals including "recapture of unused visas". I feel the nurses will deplete our unused visas by recapturing unused ones several times and we may not have that option anymore.
