Why? Simply because it is more socially acceptable to be homophobic than it is to be racist.

Bring it to sprint. Pretty sure sprint uses CDMA, but might have to change a few things inside.

Don't forget also Star Trek Strategic Ops:

Guy had the sit-down one local for $750 in perfect condition - wow, sold it in under 1/2 hour...
The upright version of this one that was at my university's arcade got many a quarter from me. "Entering Sector 1... Point... 2." :D
I would have bought the sit-down one for that price, too. Some collectors would have paid more, just to get a working vector CRT.

does apple really want to become that predictable with annual product updates at given events?
I think they invented that.

I think google has a lock on the map thing. I can't see apple employees driving around remapping the world to get their own data base
You need to educate yourself. Google "Facebase". Apple bought them mid-2009

I am all against this nostalgia gaming. U have so many great games available on the ipad or iphone that utilise their potencial, why would u wanr to play games that have 12 pixels running around? I think it has more to do with people remembering the "good old times" when they havent had all that depression, fear and insecurity going on.
So you ONLY listen to NEW music (never any old)?
Some of us may not like the new games...

just seems to me that people are acting like its a feature that shouldn't be on a phone rather then one that is almost standard. it also just seems that IM's are quicker conversations then texts, but maybe i'm wrong about that cause on phones it's pretty much the same thing.
Well, that's the thing. Every iPod has featured something innovative. The original delivered a small music player capable of holding a (at the time) extensive amount of songs with seamless software. The 3G iPod opened the doors to all users. The mini added even more style and portability to it, making it very popular. The nano held even more songs in a smaller package with a color screen. The 5G iPod delivered all of the above with the ability to watch TV shows and movies on it. Each iPod has brought something to the table that's new and kept competitors guessing what they would do next. Advertising an iPhone, a major step for them, with instant messaging won't cut it. That's already out there. Up until the release of the 5G iPod, you couldn't buy TV shows legally on the internet. Instant messaging on your phone is offered by all of Apple's potential competitors should they decide to enter the mobile phone market.
yea, but i think that if they do a full tiny keyboard, they will be going for something similar to a sidekick. the sidekick 3 was a major let down.
I love the Sidekick. It's been a hugely successful phone. I think it was great that the SK3 added music, a 1.3 MP shooter, and EDGE, but I do agree they could have at least kept EDGE in there. I think Apple would be smart to make a device similar to the Sidekick. This doesn't mean that they need to make a swiveling screen, (even though it's been patented a million times by Danger) but I think people are starting to warm up to smartphones now. My generation (teen) and my sister's (early 20's) are especially. I have heard that Apple may be launching two devices: one simple phone and a smartphone, which is probably smart because not everyone is interested in a smartphone.

Why not? The USA for example has only 4 million miles of roads. A car with driver + passenger + some decent equipment should be able to map say 10 miles per hour, at a cost of $50 per hour. 200 cars for a year, that's 20 million dollars. And then you have a database that you can sell, and that you can use everywhere. Then write an iPhone app that lets users make corrections, lets businesses add their locations etc. and you are ready.
As a driver in North America, rather than just the US, let's make that an extra million miles to include Canada and Mexico. Canada seems well served by most map services but Mexico is not. Most map services seem to leave out gas stations in Mexico, a rather basic need.

12 petabytes is mind blowing, i remember my first windows pc with 300mb of hdd space.
And I remember my first 30mb external hard drive that only cost me 1000$
I used to brag to people at how amazing it was as it could replace almost 30 floppy disks.

Interesting that you had problems with your cds. Usually I never encountered such a thing. I take care of them but not spend too much time worrying about it. Lots of my work are backed up on cd's and dvds as early as the 90's.
I agreed that having a Hard Drive backup is a good thing. I am interested in the high capacity of the BR and HD-DVD discs, but I refuse to pay $50 for a disc. I rather buy at Fry's on promotion a 300GB hard drive for $89. Much better deal.
Until then I think Hard drives are the way to go to archive huge files. It will be interesting when these new dvd discs cost around $5 for 50GB, then I will jump on it.

What, did Apple think that Verizon customers would warmly welcome someone who shunned them for 4 years? The customer is most important, shouldn'thave signed that exclusive contract with AT&T... relly stunted their growth in the CDMA market, people move on too...
If Apple had not signed that exclusive contract with AT&T, there would be no iPhone as we know it. Nor would there be Android as we know it. AT&T was the carrier willing to cede device control to Apple, which was a real game-changer. They required exclusivity to do it.
Android fans should be thanking Apple for that partnership, because not only did it make their own OS possible, but it also gave their OS a growth opportunity while Apple was tied down with AT&T.

How can you pre-order if the 2GB shuffle is not even on Apple's website?
Tell me that's a joke. I even put a clarification in the story this time. 2G = SECOND GENERATION
