Agreed, It is very unfortunate for people stuck in backlogs and I feel your pain... But would you rather have seen USCIS waste over 40000 visas by the end of the year without any PD movement (as reported by some on this forum)? We would have had another thread here blasting the inefficiency and unfairness of USCIS.
Bottomline, I would not like to work in USCIS right now.. They are basically damned if they do, damned if they dont. That said, I do hope that BECs get their act together like USCIS is trying to and get everyones labor cleared by the deadline before the next retrogression hits.

Good to see an EB3 thread with so many people in EB2 getting Greencards these days.
It is a matter of time EB2 I is current and nobody from EB2 will care for EB3. It is comforting that many IV core is EB3 and some good will happen to EB3. A friend of mine with EB3 I PD in 2008 has literally lost all hope of getting greencard and that is very sad. It is painful to see EB2 people not helping EB3 people. Why?

We have details of every local town hall meeting in your area and you can go there. We can help you set up your meeting with your lawmaker in his office. Its great that someone is actively looking into this, but will the whole 'security' issue backfire if USCIS decides it would rather waste the visa numbers than getting into this kind of mess in the future by processing everything swiftly?

Got CPO email for both my spouse and myself. Details:
I Labor: June 2004
Quit company in 2005 Sept
II Labor: May 2006
I-485: July 2007
Got current twice after that but no luck with GC
Finally greened on 5/4/2011
Did not get any RFE. Last SLUD was Sept. 2010. No activity after that. And today got the CPO emails and SMS messages.
CONGRATS and Enjoy the freedom.

EB1 is the brightest not in all ways. If you are a manger in outsourcing company and in one more country u still qualify for EB1. It does not take long to become a manager in outsourcing companys. So how u can break the law or tweak around it works. I know people who were on bench life long in consulting companies in EB2 got GCs.

The packet was just asking me to confirm my address, and my soliciters address and details. They sent a copy to me, my soliciter, and my employer.
was mailed to me on the 18th of april.
on the cover letter, it said i had been sent these because my PD was about to become current, and or a visa number would be available for me within the next 3- 6 months.
My take on the Mumbi consulate, VB, is just wait and see. It says most other countries, not ROW...and to be honest, i am not guna belive anything untill i see it on the state dept web site. in the full VB which should be out next week.
Im consular processing, im not even on the USA yet, i have had my job held open for the last 2 years.
i carnt see row moving forward that much but i think it will move a little. i dont think it will move back.

i am on h-4 visa,and my i94 is expired more than 180 days,i.e my husband had i-94 till cotober 2007,but the port of entry stamped on my passport upto2006 october,we dint no about i-94 until we had seenit,it expired more than 180 days,our attorny said to extend it but it has already expired,so we thought to go local uscis and request about the case,we were really teansed about that,next morning we went to local uscis office , the officer was really good person ,just he took my husbands i-94 and my i-94 ,and changed the form with my husbands i-94 untill 2007 oct,by gods grace every thing goes well,so if anybody has the similar problem on h-4 visa just go to local uscis office and explain the problem to the officer.

I hope so. Some of my colleagues got their I-140 and I-485 approved at the same time when I-140 was filed with request to port earlier PD. I am hoping for the same...
Quick question; so when was your EB3 140 approved? or does it really have to be approved inorder to port to the EB2?
Can a person who only has labor approved under EB3 later port to that date if he were to get the labor approved under EB2?

I am planning to come to US on H4 around March mid 2008. File my H1 for April Quota with Change of Status.
Planning to go back to India in April Ending...

SGP are you working at Client's site in NJ or are you working from Home for a company in LA, CA ?
If you are at Client Site then you need a LCA for NJ and no need for address in LA., CA
If you are working from home, then you have to check what does your Paystub say, if it says that you are an employee in LA, CA you have to find a home in CA.
It is from my understanding of the law. Other's please comment

Guys, this is the time to show the core group that we are a bunch of people thankful that there is IV to help us fight this fight.
We need to stand united and raise awareness and sign up for the $20minimum a month recurring contribution.
I understand that some of you do intend to contribute and have contributed generously in the past,
But here are some mindsets, All of us fall in these 4 mindsets.
1) you probably think "why should I sign up for a monthly recurring contribution program". I am a generous contributor and I contribute almost monthly anyways.
2) I have contributed enough.
3) I will contribute if I feel like, when I see something comming out of this effort.
4) I do not have to contribute.
If you are in category 1).I can tell you, I understand because I have been a generous contributer in the past. But guys, the reason I signed up for a monthly recurring contribution is that it helps IV know that 'X' amount of funds are guaranted every month, this way they can better plan.
Category 2) Contributed enough - Okay why dont just sign up for a minimum amount of $20/month once more. What is enough is not enough.
Category 3) This has been discussed, I do not want to talk about this category of members.
Category 4) Again - No Comments-
Lets show the core team that all of us fall in the first 2 categories.
The last thing we want the core to do is bite their fingers over funds. We want do not want the core to get stressed out over funds. They have enough real work to do already.
Inspite of being a serious team player, and a generous contributor it took me two days to sign up for the recurring monthly contribution program, so I give all of the ones that have not set up a monthly recurring contribution benefit of doubt. But this is our last chance, I urge you to be one of the 2000 people we need for this effort. Need 898 members

I entered US on H4. Then applied for H1 for software job and I still have to go for stamping.
I have completed CPA and I would like to move to an accounting firm ( they have to file my H1 transfer with accounting domain).
Is this change in domain going to cause any problem during H1 transfer or stamping:confused:
