If this works out and a Beatles iPod does come out with a commercial alongside I can almost guarantee you the song will be Revolution.
As someone said earlier... Come Together. That's my bet.

Nice, but not essential. I usually have the patience to wait until I'm home to install an update. Unless it's an iOS update..
More important to me is over-the-air syncing. That would be a killer!
I just assumed that the two would come hand in hand though I now see why that's not necessarily the case. I agree, OTA syncing is even better but there just isnt any reason to not be able to do both.

there is a reason why each processor in the Mac Pro alone costs a lot more than the whole $750 PC.
That's not true though is it?

I'm not sure about novels but I would love to be able to read articles from Time, Wired, New Yorker et cetera on my iPod. In the past I've copied them from the web and transferred them into a 'note' file for viewing on my iPod. However I'd love to be able to download them from iTunes like a podcast. 99 cents wouldn't be un-reasonable if it's a well written article and it's advertisement free.
I think this would be great - I already read news articles on my 3G phone, and the iPod screen is bigger than that. Novels? No thanks.
Syncing today's news to my iPod in the morning to read on the way to work sounds great. No need for pesky slow download from a 3G network, or fiddly applescripts to download a website to notes on the iPod (sure someone would suggest it - sounds pretty awful to me!).

It seems very slow to me. The new iTunes spends at least 2 minutes "Loading iTunes Library" before the main screen appears. iTunes 6 never did that and it didn't take as long to load :(
My library is around 25,000 songs.

cutting back on the Military is everyone's answer but mine ... careful what you wish for
here is the new Security you all hope for
Do you realize how much the U.S. spends as compared to all of the other countries on this planet?

I certainly hope that the resolution on the Apple Movie Store will be AT LEAST 480x720 (aka 480P). Otherwise, between Netflix and super cheap DVDs these days, I don't see how Apple can compete with lower than DVD resolution.
If they are really smart (and the studios play ball, which is doubtful) they would go straight to 1080P.

Heres my question..........Iphone4 is reaching maturity as the number sold has decreased each day as many await the iphone5. How will Apple compensate for revenue and profit in these 2 quarters???? Ipad2 isn't going to make up the difference. I wouldn't count the Iphone5 out yet in late June or July unless there is a part shortage from Japan.
Remember Apple is not the type of company that must put every feature into its upcoming product.

I've got a bad feeling about this.
Anyone else think that this may be a reference to the rumored ulta-portable design that is essentially a thin clinet, wiht all of the apps/storage handleed over the internet with dotmac/google apps.
It would boil the new machine down to a large iphone with a keyboard. While such an approach is OK for the BB or iPhone, I would hate to have it on a laptop.
The other expanations are for more pallatable.

you know this isn't real, right? This is one of those BS stories that Apple begins to spread internally to see where the leaks are...to test their employees. I'm sure it was only told to a few people in the organization to see where they were coming from.
I highly doubt you're going to see a 3D iPad any time soon.

UGH why haven't they updated the MBP's yet?? Apple has totally dropped the ball on this year's college students for sure (at least those looking for apple laptops). My girlfriend is required to buy a MacBook Pro for interior design, and I keep telling her to wait because Merom has got to be right around the corner.
What about the laptops???? MBP's haven't been updated once and iMacs have been getting all the love. Count it!

Over-the-air updates over the cellular network is a fine idea, but it's just not that important. That's not really a capability I value at all. Nice, but so what?
What Apple should have done a long time ago is made it possible to update and sync iDevices over WiFi. There is enough bandwidth on WiFi to do all of that just fine. And there is no technical reason it can't be done.
Seriously, why the heck, when I'm at home on my WiFi network (Apple gear too, btw) do I need to connect my iPhone to my computer with a stupid USB cable? If I want to install an iOS patch or simply add a couple of songs from my iTunes library, I should be able to do it while I'm sitting on the couch, or at the dinner table. Having to use a cable is sooooo 5 years ago.

I wonder when new Macbooks/Macbook pros will come?
Strange, because everyone said that Apple would release the MB and MBPs on the 12th, but not all of a sudden it shifted to the iMac

Wouldn't be a bad idea. Even if they just made "patches" so we aren't downloading half a gb of updates every 2 weeks.
This. Patches are desperately needed for this OS.

Give it a few days. I've so far only found them in London at the Apple Store itself. They are worth the wait :)
Just picked up a 2 and 4 gig at an Apple store here in the Staes.
They are S W E E T.

I fully agree with the concept of a fair playing field. Maybe the middle ground is going to be found in the cloud, but I doubt it.
Except the cloud might be manipulated by subscription, terms of use, and other policies that do far more to benefit the cloud service (SaaS) provider. Especially regarding copyrights... in return, the cloud has one relying more on the security and storage of the cloud vendor. Since cloud vendors are only interested in the money, they're not going to take the same level of care or precautions we otherwise would.

He doesn't know why he wants to build a good camera for Apple? Cause last time I checked Sony doesnt actually know what market they want to go in and just dips their feet into everything. Not mention Samsung has been doing much better in the smart phone market than Sony but are building most of the components in the iOS devices.

... then sit back and watch everyone complain about the high priced products! Yeah, sounds like a winner.
People already piss and moan about it. If apple really wanted to have a low environmental impact they would build their products where they have Higher standards for environmental quality.

"If we're completely wrong and you completely screw up the entire music market for Mac owners, the sandbox is small enough that you really won't damage the overall music industry very much."
So, I take this to mean that having iTunes on PC is what's holding up the iTunes movie store from getting the major studios. This quote seems to be code for "the studios are terrified we're not going to get this right".
Which, of course, they're aren't if "right" means uncrackable for the next millennium, which the studios want because they're afraid of the boogieman (who is imaginary) instead of realizing there's profit to be had in them thar bits.

I figured it would sell out quick...I tried to get approval from my boss this morning, and even said it would sell out in a day or two to rush the decision...unfortunately, I should have said hour or two!
Wow, that was fast. At this rate, next year should sell out within an hour. I think if you wanted to go, you needed to get your bosses approval before it was announced.
The second quote is my response to the first.
But there are larger venues available, so it is certainly possible to limit the number of attendees by choosing a venue that is too small.
Ok, but they are only utilizing Moscone West. Why not rent West and North, South or all three. That would allow them to expand without moving.
But then Apple would lose the hype value of being able to say "sold out in N hours".
Apple is a marketing company above all else.
Next Year is going to suck for buying tickets.
If we went from 8 days to 12 hours what will next year be like?
Next year the WWDC will be in a Holiday Inn in Millbrae (SF airport), because all of the city will be booked for the ADC (Android Developers' Conference). ;)

This Apple page shows much shorter serial number ranges that the original MacRumors article.

So which is it? The Apple page has to be considered official, but the MacRumors article would get me a brand new battery. :p

Good question. The FAQ you've linked to quotes:

I expect the dust will settle, eventually.

I'm betting..............no.
What Apple WILL end up eventually doing is getting a retina display into the iPad whether it be iPad 3, 4 or whenever it's ready. I don't see Apple jumping on the gimmicky 3D band wagon.
