My iBook G4s battery falls within the range on their page, but when I go to 'check out' it says the computer serial number is valid but not the battery? I think I'll call them tomorow...

I'm amazed that you investigated so heavily the CPU usage and yet STILL came to the wrong conclusion, that this is Apple's fault.
For the record, you're completely wrong that FLASH works well on anything but Windows PCs.
Did you not notice in those numbers that FLASH doesn't work well on ALL MACS ON ALL BROWSERS ??? And FLASH is the reason for crashes on both POWERPC and INTEL Macs, even brand new Macs, from what I'm reading in other threads here on MacRumors.
So, how again is this Apple's fault that FLASH doesn't work on any recent Apple platform, iPhone, PowerPC, or INTEL?
Because Adobe doesn't care and has written crappy software. It has nothing to do with Apple.
Not much else crashes any of my Macs, so how is this Apple's fault?
Can you imagine what would happen if Apple let the current version of FLASH on the iPhone and peoples' phones started crashing like their Apple Macs are now? It would be on FOX NEWS!
Apple's making the right call here. The ball is in Adobe's court to get it right first on Macs.
Then I'll insist Apple let FLASH on the iPhone, but not a day sooner.
And I will bet dollars to doughnuts that your Android prediction turns out wrong too, FLASH or no FLASH.
If FLASH is an epic fail on both INTEL and POWERPC Macs and with both Safari and Firefox on Macs, how the hell do you think it's going to do on the iPhone?
This is NOT Apple's problem in my opinion. Adobe has just dropped the ball.
If FLASH crashes on most people's Macs, how do you think it will fair on the iPhone, since it's mostly the same browser?
Please people, think before you put your feet in your mouths.
Its epic fail on WinMO and Windows and Linux.

I personally think with the uptake of more Apple systems and the perception of better security on Apple systems many people see this as a challange to break a Mac (ala Hack a Mac).
But wait! Doesn't Apple's miniscule market-share mean that hackers won't target Macs because there is nothing to be gained? Better off targeting the 95% of Windows-running machines out there? I think this story proves again that the "security through obscurity" argument is just a myth. :)

I also think that whoever has the remaining rights to this material realise that its shelf-life is almost up. In 5-10 years time, the broad appeal of much of this material may have less relevance to the average consumer and its perceived market-value may be far less.
That's not a comment on the merits of The Beatles' music; just my view based on many of the comments I read by what I am assuming are younger music listeners.
I'm 43, many of these songs are ingrained into my memory from childhood, but the only Beatles albums I would possibly be interested in are maybe 2-4 remastered CDs; I'm not interested in downloads at all. But to be honest, I don't feel that by not currently owning them that my music collection is lacking at all.

AH! Thank you! Hahaha, it was kinda bugging me.. I was entranced by it hahaha. So how are you liking those?
I think you'll have to ask steezy1337 because that is his setup & he owns a set of the Harman Kardon Soundsticks II speakers. ;) I don't own a set of those speakers so unfortunately, I'm afraid I'm not in a position to give you my view of how those speakers sound. :o

a few things:
1. gapless playback has always been an option in itunes before this version.
2. i want the old library format back! is there a way to make it 3 little windows? (artist and albums on top and tracks on bottom?) so much scrolling involved now.

I like them, but I prefer the look of the old ones. The non-cosmetic upgrades are great though, and I'd be more inclined to buy a new one just because of that. That is, unless I can find a cheap one someone's flogging in the Marketplace...:D

No- how ridiculous. Atheism is not a religion.
Dogmatic belief in the nonexistence of God can be considered a religion.
Agnostic atheism cannot though.

This is just a business being a business. Get over it.
Do you really think that? Beyond all the questions and concerns about Wal-Mart's treatment of its employees and some of its deceptive practices and its tendency to sap small communities dry and wipe out smaller, local businesses (all of which I have witnessed with my own eyes so don't accuse me of quoting any lefty Web sites)... beyond all that, you think anti-competitive behavior is just "a business being a business." I don't think it is. In fact, it runs counter to everything I've been told about how the U.S. works. If you really believe what you're saying, I ask that you reconsider your point of view. You have very little support for the argument that one company making threats against another industry to stop a potential competitor is just "being a business." In fact, there have been lawsuits against some companies engaging in this very thing. Notable for an Apple discussion forum would be the example of Microsoft, but there have been others.

Brilliant.
What do you want me to say that people haven't already voiced?
That The Beatles have received 7 Grammy Awards and 15 Ivor Novello Awards.
That they have been awarded 6 Diamond albums, as well as 24 Multi-Platinum albums, 39 Platinum albums and 45 Gold albums in the United States and in the UK they have 4 Multi-Platinum albums, 4 Platinum albums, 8 Gold albums and 1 Silver album?
The fact that you can just dismiss them is laughable but hey i don't want to upset you anymore than i have.
Oh and stop calling me son.
Looks like both of you were calling each other son, as some sort of insult or something…? I don't understand you kids these days.

I like your 'games' point but not so sure about your other claims.
Did you mean that Windows buyers ARE more techno-savvy?
Or that Techno-Savvy types tend to avoid Macs?
The average buyer today is less tech-savvy. 10 years ago, soccer moms and hipsters didn't own laptops. Those who actually had email accounts or myspace pages would use the family desktop computer or a machine in a computer lab.
Today, your grandmother has a facebook page and a yahoo/hotmail/gmail account and probably has her own laptop.
Higher Prices for Better Machines.
Fantastic designs are not cheap. And Apple never skimps on Components
Quality Windows PCs cost about the Same as Macs but don't have iLife.
Actually, Apple does skimp on components. They charge more for the same hardware that PC manufacturers use, and Macs are never at the bleeding edge of hardware tech (probably because their profit margins would disappear due to price pressures)[/quote]
You think a Mom or kid wouldn't think the Mac OS is more attractive and easier to use?
You say "People telling them Macs are good" but are not clear why they do tell them that. Are Macs really good or is "All marketing"?
More attractive? Maybe not anymore... Windows 7 has made pretty big strides in terms of UI. There isn't much wrong with Mac as a computing platform, but lets be honest here.... Mac's strength as a computing platform is *not* what is propping up their sales. PC's still do it cheaper and just as easily (if not easier) for 90% of the tasks a typical user undertakes.
'Cool'
What does that mean? Is it just another word for 'Trendy'?
How did Macs get to be cool or trendy?
I always defined cool as 'being comfortable being yourself'
Are you serious? Maybe you're new here? Apple fans are 2 steps shy of being brainwashed cult members and its no secret to anyone that Apple's hype/marketing department is probably the strongest weapon in their arsenal. They are very adept at pushing their products.
Finally, why does every switcher I meet have the same expression on their face. They all look relieved, like we have just pulled them into the life boat.
Cool may get you to buy something but it can't make you LOVE something.
So why do Mac users LOVE their machines so much?
If you own one I don't really have to explain.
Really? I'd tell you about the pained expressions on one switcher's face I know after asking me (again) to salvage whatever data I could off of the 3rd hard drive that her macbook ate, but it is beside the point.
Are macs decent computers? Yes. Are people buying them en mass because it is 'cool'? Definitely.

Most average Joe iMac consumers aren't even going to notice that the Core 2 Duo is in their machine, and even if they do, it's probably not going to make that much of a difference running Mail and Safari.

I am mostly complaining between the mismatch between the 1.83 and the 2.0 model in terms of what 200$ buy (512MB RAM, Double Processor Cache, HD space, Superdrive, Processor Speed).
They should have lowered the price of the 1.83 entry model to reflect how cripled it is. I can not see anybody considering it as a realistic choice.
ok, i'll buy that, sorry i snapped. i had always been planning on the 2gig model, because it seemed like so much more for the money in even the first release. true, now that's even more the case, and indeed, what i'm buying

He didn't mean the Mac OS; he meant an app he bought from the App Store that was 4GB.

And I'm willing to bet he was specifically referencing XCode.

Android Phone Specs are out pacing the Iphone. An 8 Megapixel camera, bigger screen and more memory will keep me buying. IOS 5 with the rumored adobe flash would be great too.
where was Flash rumored for iOS 5?

I think this is a cool idea but I dont think that the screen is big enough to read a book, youll only be able to get a few lines on the screnn, sony's idea looks cool but its too big.
If it was to come out I think that you would have to have free downloads or downloads at a very little cost eg $0.10 for a downloadable newspaper, that is the only way I can see it working.
PS. I think Apple will have to do more with this iPod with all the features coming with Microsoft's Zune, I cant wait to see.
