1. Engadget are very reliable IMO.
2. This furthers the estimation that the next iPod will have an OLED display. You really can't read an eBook normally on an LCD display, cause your eyes will hurt and the battery will die afte 2 chapters.

The delays were actually a good thing for me. Gave me time to "cool off"
I'm with you on every point, except the cooling off period.
Now that Apple's quality control had tanked, I know that there's a great likelihood ill get a bad one and the return game will begin.
Even though I have an Apple store nearby, I buy BTO, so I'm stuck with what has become "The Crap Shoot, Gambling The Apple Way".

4 or 5 Sniper shots will destroy a tank. 2 or 3 if you are precise and can hit either the driver compartment, or the exhaust vent. Just FYI.
But also, you will only have to deal with that for a about another week. The October update to playlists and maps is coming next week, and the Tank is being swapped for a Wraith, along with a host of other fixes and tweaks that people have noticed in this first couple weeks of playing.
Awesome, cheers.
I don't play Halo multiplayer for a couple of reason. The main one being that i suck at it. But the other reason is the wait time to get into a game and then out of it to get into another. I dont have that problem with Modern Warefare 2 so I am just wondering if its me and my crappy connection or what?
The only way to get better is to play.
MW2 finds games a bit different to halo which is why it probably takes less time. For example in MW2 you can get put into games which have already started where as in Halo you can only play from the beginning of a match. And you can play with odd numbers unlike halo which needs even numbers.
I find the match making times are quite variable. Sometimes it can take 5 minutes and sometimes 30 seconds.

The Classic is in the "Maturity" stage of it's life cycle.
Late 2009 is a year and a half ago, it is not that serious for something that quite frankly doesn't need to be updated.
Many people like having a large music collection with them. It is not necessarily that they "need" all those songs with them, it's just easier than having to pick and choose which ones they think they might want to listen to.
Once you get going (i.e. are playing music) the Classic is a much safer music accessory while driving than an iPod Touch. I like the way the iPhone/iPod Touch organize the music better however.
I agree with others that I don't think they should discontinue the classic until the iPod touch catches up capacity wise.

Are you kidding? Netflix destroyed it with streaming. Disney and Sony aren't even advertising for it anymore. The Blu Ray players are being sold dirt cheap at clearance sales because it's a dying/dead format. I haven't heard a word about it on TV ads to further seal the deal.
And I never liked it anyway, the 25 GB disc wasn't filled all the way because of the stupidly lossy compression, and it was expensive. We unplugged our Blu Ray player and replaced it with a TiVo box with Netflix streaming, which happens to be a lot cheaper than Blu Ray and much easier.
And Apple never used it :)
I've noticed many blu ray disks now come with digital copies. I prefer that. One even had a survey asking how important the digital copy was. So perhaps this will be a nice combination for a while.
I ended up getting a PS3 for the blu ray player. For a while it got most usage as a netflix player. Now the appleTV handles that. So occasionally it gets used now for blu ray. I still do not own any games for it. Someday when I have time for it I'll get a game or two. I think if you are getting a blu ray player, PS3 is the way to go though as you can use it for more than just the blu ray.

I am sure Apple is not happy, and as a consumer I wouldn't be, either. It is good short-term business sense (maximizing today's sales), but a terrible move long run as the reputation will take a big hit with customers and suppliers. A classic case of not looking past the end of your nose.
In my part of the world, Radio Shack's reputation is pretty well cooked anyway.
The only way their business model is going to work in 2011 is if they know how to recruit and train people who love both the products they offer and love the people enough to serve them well. It can be done...I know, because I have to do it myself, in a small company with about 450 employees.
But there's something wrong at the top at Radio Shack, and it filters all the way down to the individual retail units.
One of my stores is right next door to a Radio Shack store in a small country town. In a low peak period, during which it would make no sense to have a half dozen employees on the clock in a small electronics store, all six of them will be outside lounging right in front of the door, smoking and gossiping in a loud voice, and not always with socially acceptable language.
And they're always the same race and the same sex, and they even basically look the same.
This is a very diverse town in the Home Counties of Virginia. It is easy to hire every kind of minority you can imagine. I'd say that about 50% of the population of this small town is more or less permanently turned off by seeing this kind of thing.
There's something wrong at Radio Shack right now, and they're going down if they don't get it in shape, fast.
And I'll say it again...this kind of thing is evidence of something wrong at the top.
It's a shame, because this small store, everything electronic concept still has something to offer the people, especially in small towns.
I'm on the waiting list at my Radio Shack and the two guys ahead of me didn't have to buy an accessory with their iPad. Might be a store by store thing.
I'm gonna check this out personally. I have an iPad 2 on order, but it'd be neat to just walk into a Radio Shack and grab one.
I'll give it a try.
Even though I'll have to fight my way through a half dozen tobacco addicted employees on the sidewalk.
:-)

Unnecessary Wars:
Revolutionary
War 1812
Civil War
Spanish American War
WW1
Korean War
Vietnam War
Desert Storm (Iraq 1.0) maybe necessary but easily avoided
Afghanistan
Iraq War
Curious about WWI. The Germans were attacking our merchant vessels and cruise ships with our citizens on them( now granted they were filled with weapons). The Germans were supposed to let the people abandon ship before they sunk it. They didn't do that with the Lusitania and in other cases I believe. So IMHO, WWI was a justified war.
Civil War I disagree with you as well.
But, my giant WTF goes to the bolded. You really think the Revolutionary War was unnecessary? How else would you have proposed separating from Britain?

Thanks! I was waiting for the sunset over the city last night and the clouds screwed me. So I stuck around in the cold and took some night shots. Here's another from the same bench that I didn't like as much.

No, agreed, the first one is much better. I like the emptiness contrasted with the big city sky. It gives it a nice, romantic and almost nostalgic feeling.
Here's one from my latest concert shoot, Streetlight Manifesto. I had forgotten how much fun ska punk was! These guys were all over the place. I got lucky with this shot and timed it just when someone else released their flash from a P&S.

Wow! The battery on my october 2003 iBook completely died ages ago (killed by a faulty power supply), and I haven't been able to justify the cost of a new one. Now I'm getting a new battery free!! Sweet!
In the mean time... unplugging the little sucker. No exploding iBooks in my office! ;)
PS: iBook batteries ZZ338 - ZZ427 are also mentioned on the exchange website, but not in the MR front page story.

I think he's referring to the "Fun, New products" event. That wasn't a disaster at all though, it was forum people predicting MacBooks, Mac Pros, new iPods blah blah blah. As predicted the Mac Mini was transitioned and the iPod got a Hi-Fi, but everyone else wanted more.

Very likely home platinum, possibly professional if they are buying a expensive high end machine.
MS has spread their lineup to thin, $500 for the ultimate every 5-10 years, I would rather got the apple route, $130 for the entire thing every few years and at least I feel continues advances than one big bang.
You mean Home Premium?

All this moral discussion about stealing a 1500,- bucks suite of software is pretty ridiculous if you put it into a relation to the billions of dollars/euros stolen from our tax money by the private central banks.
If a corporation steals billions that's ok, but if someone pirates a single piece of software that's theft.
The same rules should apply to everyone.
Btw, I have only legit software on my computer.

Apple's website was thick with Flash and frames when the iPhone was first announced. It was the "real internet".
Steve Jobs deliberately stayed away from displaying the Apple website on an iPhone for months... because Safari couldn't display it correctly, if at all.
At the time, I noted online what he was doing, and commented that Apple was going to have to totally redesign their website before the iPhone went on sale.
And so they did.
Apple never used flash for anything more than simple animated ads on their site! And moved away from that to Quicktime based video. If you were seeing Flash it was because you were on a PC with out quicktime and the Apple site was falling back to flash!
Flash is evil it is not searchable, it is a black stain on the open web!

Do I understand this correctly? You have to pay the same for an upgrade no matter if you have CS5, CS4, or even CS1? If you don't want to wait for CS6 you pay double?
This thing should be gradual and reasonable. Heck, for CS5 owners an upgrade they didn't dare adding a full point to should be free. Talk about market power here... Sure those who need it and make money with it will pay for it. But it's so cheeky it tickles.

I realize that some people want X, Y, Z now! For myself, I can wait for new hardwareprobably until iPhone 6 (or 5 if the next one is 4G)as I like to get several years of use out of it. Heck, I just decommissioned my iBook G4 last year. What Im excited to see is what iOS 5 will bring. This is how Apple will have dominance over Android phones.
As for waiting ~ 3 more months, while Im not a blind Apple lap dog, I have a certain amount of faith that they know what theyre doing. I think that Steve, the master of shrewd and manipulation, has taught his disciples well.

This is not true. There is no specific assertion in the Old Testament of any triune nature of god.
I could type up a bunch of stuff, but this website (http://www.godandscience.org/apologetics/triunity.html) does a good job of covering all the bases regarding our difference of opinion on this matter. Here's two quick excerpts:
Jews say that the Shema (pronounced Shmah), "Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord"1 contradicts the Christian doctrine that Jesus is God. In addition, there are a number of other verses that proclaim that God is one (see God is One). However, the triunity of God is taught throughout the Old Testament, including the Shema! How can a statement of oneness imply plurality? The word translated "one" from the Hebrew is echad, which demonstrates compound unity of oneness.
and
Some of the verses above include all members of the triunity (Isaiah 42:1, Isaiah 48:16, and Isaiah 61:1). Therefore, the Old Testament does reveal the Christian concept of the Godhead, with God being one God, consisting of three persons.
Remember what I said in the beginning. Complete understanding of the old testament comes through knowledge gained by the revelation of the new testament. They really can't be separated in terms of understanding the whole of God's message and work throughout history. Additionally, for the average person (who cannot read Hebrew and is not familiar with Jewish history and doctrine) it could be difficult to see the trinity in the old testament. That's why I suggest to people that they invest in a study Bible, possibly a Bible Encyclopedia, and some commentaries. These additional tools can help bring out the contextual clues provided by the original languages, the historical context, and the skill of cross referencing within the Bible.
Of course not any interpretation is valid; however, the Bible is very complex and contradicts itself in places. There is no set interpretation that can said to be right, rather a spectrum that can be justified. "Clear" is not a word I would use.
Again, we'll just have to agree to disagree. The Bible does not contradict itself in it's overall message of God's revelation of himself and plan for restoring the relationship with man that was destroyed by sin. Sure there are differences of application and interpretation regarding secondary matters (food laws, sexuality, alcohol, etc. etc.) and that is why we have different denominations within the Christian faith. However, the primary matter of who God is, how he dealt with the problem of sin, and how he we are to treat one another is clear and without contradiction. That is why I feel confident in telling you that Westboro is "off the mark" because they are not following Christ's example with how they treat their fellow man and how they represent God to others.
I realize that, to you, what I'm about to say might be viewed as an issue of semantics or "word manipulation", but to a genuine follower of Christ there is no such thing as "my interpretation". I believe what God says in his word and if I am confused about something I look to other parts of scripture to help me get at the correct interpretation of what is confusing me. You see it doesn't matter what I think or what I wish it would say, I come to the Bible with no preconceived notions and let it stand on it's own.
This is obviously where we part ways. For me the Bible is the product of man. Nothing more.
I understand. In most, if not all, of these discussions the eventual impasse that arises is centered on the issue of faith. Some choose to believe, some don't. Some are open to putting God to the test, some are not.
