$118,00? Really? I am floored that anyone would pay even half that for that car.
Given his location, I'm guessing (hoping) that is $118k Brazilian.

Download and install Aqua Extreme. Choose the "Obsidian" package after you download it.

Cheers to that. Not using it because some of my menubar icons didn't work out, but it's ok, I can live with the gray menubar :(

Updated with new icons, dock, and wallpaper :D

Thanks for the tips. Still, Lightscribe or Labelflash or equivalent would be a nice feature, especially in a notebook computer. If you're out and about with your notebook and you want to burn a disc, it'd be convenient to be able to just burn a few words on to the disc rather than bothering with printers, inks, labels, markers, etc.
Seems like a lot of hassle to avoid using a Sharpie...

[Edit: guess I'm not the only one thinking this way....]

Just to throw my hat into the ring:
    Wiretap (http://www.ambrosiasw.com/utilities/freebies/)

I have found this very useful in different circs. It runs 'on the top' of any application and takes up little processor
    * take a funny quote from a DVD and use it as a system-beep
    * record internet radio to listen to later
    etc.

I'll second this emotion - I do some side DJ work, and this app is great for ripping samples and remixing when I'm dropping stuff to CDs. Grab the sound in WireTap, convert it to anything from AIFF to MP3 in Sound Studio, and mix it with either Sound Studio or Peak. I've sampled everything from Ghostbusters (Annie Potts, "Ghostbusters, what do you want!?") to Ronald Reagan (all his quotes about aliens to mix with Blondie's "Rapture") with this app -- it's a lot of fun to use and completely free. I wouldn't use it for heavy duty audio, but for sampling and quick rips it's great.

No it doesn't. Seriously, I've visited this site zillions of times and Safari has never crashed on it.

As for resizable text areas, it's a good idea in theory. Too many "web designers" think they are designing for print...the user is supposed to have control over how things look. That's one of the whole points of the web; everything should be as relative as possible.

    --Eric

If the user (who knows nothing of design, fonts, color, etc.) has control over the presentation of a company's image then there is absolutely no point in having a designer. Might as well have the intern throw something up there. Think before you write.

    Bertrand Serlet (Apple)
Apple today announced (http://www.apple.com/pr/library/2011/03/23serlet.html) that Bertrand Serlet, senior vice president of Mac Software Engineering, will be departing the company in order to "focus less on products and more on science", although his specific destination remains unknown. Serlet joined Steve Jobs at NeXT in 1989, and transitioned to Apple in 1997 when NeXT was acquired and Jobs brought back to lead Apple.

Craig Federighi demoing Mac OS X Lion (Reuters)
Serlet will be replaced by Craig Federighi, currently Apple's vice president of Mac Software Engineering and who has led Mac OS X engineering for the past two years. Federighi is another former NeXT and Apple employee who spent ten years at Ariba before returning to Apple in 2009. Serlet notes that the transition should be seamless given Federighi's role in leading the current Mac OS X team.Serlet has occasionally appeared at Apple keynote and media events over the years to introduce Mac OS X-related features, and thus well known to longtime Apple followers. Federighi made his first public presentation since his return to Apple at last October's "Back to the Mac" event (http://www.macrumors.com/2010/10/20/live-coverage-of-apples-back-to-the-mac-media-event/), taking the stage to show off some of the features of Apple's forthcoming Mac OS X Lion.

....What I want to know is how exactly you expect businesses to grow jobs, expand operations, etc. in this type of situation. It seems fairly clear based on the facts that A) this wouldn't be near enough money to solve the problem B)that the end result in the long run will almost certainly be less growth, fewer jobs, and less government 'revenue' than before. C) that you'd kill what chance we have left at regaining a strong economy as large businesses would do whatever they could to get their assets in locations of lower tax burden.

You're mixing income tax with corporate or business taxes. I know that some small businesses mix the two, but most keep these incomes separate. With this in mind, how would a tax increase on the top one percent or 25 percent hurt businesses?

You indicated that the rich weren't paying their 'fair share.' I responded by pointing out that the top 50% of wage earners pay 95% of the tax burden. ...

Can you point me to a time in history where lower taxes led to more growth?...

...If 90 people make $1,000 each, and 10 people make $50,000 each and they were evenly taxed on income, you'd still have 10% of the people paying 84.7% of the taxes. Is that unfair? No, it's not. Not in the slightest. And once you take out even a basic cost-of-living exemption, which should be the start of any tax system, that number would increase dramatically. Like, just over 95% maybe?

Fivepoint, can you address both of these questions?

The second is a good metaphor for taxation, those who hold the most wealth should also pay the highest taxes and will, as a consequence of basic math, pay a larger percentage of their income. This is 'fair' in a progressive system.

Also, while I agree that the deficit needs to be dealt with, I'm concerned that a breakneck reaction will cause more harm than it's worth. If your check oil light comes on, you don't immediately slam on the breaks and abandon the car in the weeds. Rather, you calmly slow down, pull over, access the fluids, and make new decisions.

My friend told me about this site last night and asked me to check it out and see if it was legit. Every review I've read says it's safe and good to go. It just seems like a napster / bearshare / limewire only web based. I haven't found anything stating this is illegal so just curious if you all have heard anything. If this is legit why doesn't iTunes just offer free music the way this site does.
