Till early part of 2004 or latter part of 2003, most of the Indians applied EB3 very few applied EB2. After 2004, it was reverse. I doubt any one appled EB3 in 2005 0r 2006.
If EB3 stays continously in 2001 and EB2 in 2004 (there is 3 year difference in cutoff date between EB2 and EB3 now), the guys with EB3 PD 2002 and 2003 will convert to EB2 by applying new 140 to transfer PD. This flow will balance the cut-off dates. Eventually it will reach a common ground or a break-even point.
There is a small problem with EB3->EB2 PD porting I guess. Now that premium processing for I-140 is suspended indefinitely, I-140 approvals may take a while for this porting to happen.

there was a rencent drive undertaken by IV which involved getting a list from USCIS (or some other authority) about where the visa #s are being used, right ?
Perhaps something to do with collecting money from the requstor..
Basically, USCIS sent letters to a few folks asking them to pay 5000$ or so to get the list as it involved some programming ?
Where is that ? does anyone know ?

The HR Manager at my company wants to send a letter inquiring about the status of my 485 application. My PD is current as of April VB and my RD is within the published Processing time. My application is at NSC.
my question is: what address do they need to send the letter to?? or is there another way to do it??

Very good post and very good idea. Always hand written letter has more value to typed/printed one. It shows the time and effort.

Wow, I am in exactly same boat, So , basically FP results are blocking EAD card production!!... next renewal, It will paper based EAD.!!

I have sent the PIO card application for my son on 03-Mar-08, thru mail.
We have a medical situation that we need to return, but his passport is stuck with the consulate, and i can not apply for emergency visa too.
1) If you go in person, will they issue a PIO on the same day?
2) What is the usual time it takes for the consulate to issie the PIO card?

Lawyers manage to do it if you are within the "unofficial" no paystub permissible timelimit. Or They manage by getting vacation letter etc... Contact a good lawyer.

FOLKS, Please consider using this following approach:
- Take 10 Minutes *NOW* to call these numbers to leave messages. If you are married, split these between husband and wife.
- If you call *NOW*, you just need to leave a Voicemail.
- Call at least 1 other friend and request him/her to call with these messages.
- Use your Yahoo! or Hotmail address book and send the messages to your contacts
- If you are on LinkedIn, send this message to your contacts.
- If you are on Orkut, 'scrap' everyone
This is key. Dont put this off.
No one will help you. You've got to help yourself.
This is one problem that cannot be 'outsourced'.
It is easy to say .... "well others are calling. I know I should call but ...(fill in your favorite excuse)"!!
15 minutes will potentially save you months of continued agony!
The Admins have
- Given the names and numbers
- Give the script
Just follow it. Please. Dont put this off. Dont expect 'someone else will do it'. Every call counts.
If possible, have husband and wife EACH call. Have your kids call. Nothing like a child's voice, more so if your kid is a US Citizen. Tell your kid to identify himself/herself as a citizen. Also builds your child's self esteem and leadership instincts.
Please, dont put this off. Your shopping trip, random errand, movie or dinner CAN wait.

I have been continuously requesting in my previous postings that CORE Team should take up the issue of sufferings of children who have turned 21 and who could not file 485 applications due to visa retrogression. I do appreciate that this may not impact a large number of our members and CORE is committing its recourses for a much wider issue of over all visa number increase. However, getting visa number increased is a big effort and in current environment may not be achieved. However, getting CSPA amended may not e that much a big deal and if CORE team starts working on it, we may see positive result. As such, I again request CORE team members to take up this issue. I am prepared to lend my support in whatever way I can and I am sure there would be many other members who will be willing to do the same.

I have to agree with him about the look and feel of our website.
We have to give a facelift for our website. I'm pretty sure we'll have
lot of web experts among us. ( Unfortunately I'm not one. ).
I agree on everything with sw33T. I also agree with paulacao that we should get feedback at regular intervals.
However, based on the current feeling, our bill will come in Feb. Our first priority should be the requirements for the bill; IV appears to be begging to meet these requirements. We need to take care of these requirements right now.
If we have more resources we will work on the remaining priorities. Please separate the main show from the side shows and freak shows.

If someone is responsible for the current state of affairs in the H1B area , It is Indian firms . The H1B1 was started in 'GOOD FAITH ' by United States to help people from "all over the world" to come in and work in the US , but large Indian IT houses have overexploited these loopholes so much that we are currently in this sorry state of affairs . In their greed for higher and higher profits(every Indian firm hits 30% profits every quarter ) they have spoiled a perfectly working program a few years ago to such a state that now getting an H1B has got less nothing to do with talent but has become like buying a supperlotto ticket .Below is a very good article from the "Economic Policy Institute " that highlights the fact that 2 well known Indian firms have single handedly lapped up 65% of H1B visas last year and have applied for just 69 green cards . Thats a GC application rate of 0.0004%. i Cannot help agree with the facts in this article. I totally agree that firms like these which abuse the system ought to be severely punished and blacklisted, so that geniunine US companies can get their required workers , when they need them . Not taking up a specific Eb-3 cause does not tantamount of neglecting Eb-3. Has IV done something in past 'proactively' for only a certain category of Eb? If not, then how can we accuse IV of ditching Eb3, at the same time?
