I was also in limbo whether to apply AP now or no. My current AP is valid till Mid Jan 2009 And I am travelling india in Oct and will be back on 1st week on Nov. I decided not to apply AP now and will be applying renewal in mid Nov. Applied only EAD renewal.
But my H1 extension approval is still pending. Not sure it will get approved by 1st week of Oct. If I happen to use the current AP do they give i-94 only till Jan 09 ( i.e my AP validity) or for 1 year ?

The law requires that you be in the US only when the AP applicaiton is filed. You can leave the next day, if you like. Also, when you return, make sure you have a document to enter the US (say AP or H1B stamp+I-797) and a document you can show the CBPO that authorizes you to work (say EAD or I-797).
If you use your AP to enter the US, the expiration date on the I-94 will be a year from the day you enter, even if the AP itself expires sooner. All you need to make sure is that you use the AP to enter the US before it expires.

Very cool. Gets the Vertigo award from me. That has to be the tallest spiral staircase I've ever seen. They don't design em like that much over here - probably to minimize the possibility of jumpers.
I don't think they do here any more either, this is an older building so building standards were a bit different.
I'm not very good with heights, so it's "interesting" to shoot this. :)

Last week out of a project..my desi consultancy sent me a termination notice(on H1 with this guy). 485 filed in July 2007. got EAD. I am looking for a project right now. Planning to join on EAD and look for a job.
What are my options? I am in status?

BTW what pesticides are good for indoor plants?
Backlog and NameCheck were the pesticides used so far and we've been pushing for organic products.. no use of pesticides... Seems USCIS/DHS agreed with our understanding of potential harm due to use of pesticides and are moving towards organic feed :-)

Hello all,
Could someone who are recently travelled via London Heathrow, please let me know what all should be done in order to obtain the DATV visa?
My flight stops there for under 2 hours (for cleaning and refuelling), and I was told I need to get the DATV since my visa expired and my approved AP alone is not enough.
Though I have gone through the required websites, i would still appreciate info from any one who recently experienced getting the DATV and travelling via London. Do I need to send I-485 receipt notice original and EAD as well?
Or is it enought to send the online application, passport, photo and AP originals?
Is there anyway to do everything in person, including handing over documents?
Also, it would be great if you could let me know how long it took to get the visa and your documents back!
Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

Same here.MTR approved NOV 2008 but online still showing Denied.It's strange feeling when you see denied status online..........Just live with it
Its been 2 years but my I-485 still shows denied although my MTR got approved and i have renewed 2 EADs and 2 APs etc.
Don't know for sure but i sent a letter to whitehouse and they sent a response couple of months later indicating my case is waiting for VISA number and everything else is alright.
And since my EADs and APs are approved in 2 years i am not that worried about online showing denied.

Just got response for my SR saying there is a RFE on my case and the letter is sent to my attorney. No update or no SLUD, LUD online. No RFE on spouse case but still waiting.

I can't answer your 1st question but you can spend a day and get a new Passport from NY consulate in the same day....
I also did the same thing last week - my old passport is valid for another
9 months but 485 takes long time and by that time if my PP No changes communication that is again a hassle.

My prority will be current in Aug, next month. I filed I485 last july and my I140 is also approved long back in 2006. After filing I485 i do not see any LUD or anything on my case.
What will be the chances to get my I485 approve ? Do i need to followup / take appointment ( Infopass) etc ?
Appriciate your thoughts...
Well, one of my colleagues with EB-2 India PD of Nov 2003 took an InfoPass appointment as soon as the bulletin came out with his PD being current. IO told him that he is all set and should get his I-485 approved as soon as his application is picked for processing as per the processing dates....He did not see any LUDs...He applied his 485 in Jun 2007...He got the welcome email in the first week of the month when his PD was current...
So I am not sure if his InfoPass appointment triggered anything or his application was picked randomly..Whatever it is, its worth taking an InfoPass because it is the only thing in your control...Good luck..
