there is such a huge backlog for Indians that even the news above won't help much... overflow from family category has slowed down and previous recaptured visas are over ..the news that CIR has been delayed could be good as there is higher chance that there maybe some sort of relief ..other than that the situation is HOPELESS !!!

What the first post might mean is this.
DOS has already allocated the available visa numbers for this fiscal to qualifying pending cases. There are are no more visas left to allocate.
It is still completely possible that there are ~ 14,000 pending cases with visas already allocated - simply awaiting approval by USCIS.
NO NEED TO PANIC

I am going to take the liberty of putting together an agenda for the conference call, just to make it more productive. I can play scribe for the call.
The call will be for a maximum of 60 mins, unless someone wants to take it longer than that.
1. Quick introductions - State your name - GC application stage. - 10 mins
2. Brainstorming session -- 20 mins
2. Volunteers who want to be part of the smaller sub-group need to come forward. -- 5 mins
This is purely to get thoughts/ideas streamlined. Everybody needs to chip in once the action plans are drafted.
3. Volunteers to exchange contact information. -- 10 mins
4. Miscellaneous -- 15 mins (if needed)
Please add more items if you feel they are necessary.

This thread is good. Keep it going. I strongly recommend that - everyone active on thbis thread , please update your IV profile and also join a state chapter if you have not already done that. if you do not have a state chapter, contact your neighboring state chapters or if you want to start a state chapter, contact pappu or paskal and get permission to start one.
It is very nice to see a lot of new mwmbers getting organized.
I live in PA. Please let me know, how to join the state chapters so that i can activiely participate in IV initiatives.

Isn�t it odd that the timing of your rally coincides with the introduction of the Strive act?
Granted you scored a point when you were allowed to file for employment authorization this July. If your one rally worked, do you really think other rallies will work too? The world of politics is driven by numbers; you do not have enough numbers to get any lawmaker interested. So wake up Macacas, admit it, you all are bunch of losers.
So far as the skills are concerned, you have been harping on the theme that you are highly skilled? If the definition of highly skilled is a mere undergrad degrees then 75% of Adult Americans are highly skilled. I bet not even 5% of you have PHDs and you call yourself highly skilled. Huhhh
And this for the leadership of your organization: You are wasting your time. If you are so desperate to get green cards contact me. We will see what we can do� One thing I believe though is this country needs people with leadership skills and not so called "Highly Skilled". So I will be more than happy to work with you. by concentrating energy on spilled over milk, why not work towards recapturing unused visa numbers? It has been done in past successfully. It is in huge numbers, guess around 300-400K or so.
while wasting energy on 2-3K or may be 5K lc sub cases will do no good for everyone. visa recapture will solve problems for most of the community.

LC Sub is long gone. Those who *legally* got pre-2001 may already have gc by now, and its not going to affect them anyway.
Think in a professional manner and do what provides the most benefit.

Pls use this site for any issues and their resolution, Not to create despair and panic with your posts..Eb2 or Eb3 are mostly employer's choice rather than your skills in most of the cases if you work for a desi company. Doesn't mean that Eb2 is not higher than Eb3.

Do we have any updates on where to send the check?
I have one message from Pappu that they have some updates on this. I don't know any details so far. Hopefully we will get some account information soon! If not, we will see how to create a pool account for this and then submit to IV. One thing is for sure, I don't think we can not afford loosing this golden opportunity. I don't want to loose this to bureaucracy.

I am EB3-I (pd 02 retrogressed) but was interested in this discussion so i emailed my lawyer about it. She said, historically the last month of the fiscal year has the most approvals as they try to clear as much as they can. You will see a lot more approvals from next week or sept 2nd week.
.......assuming there are still remaining visa numbers. It so happened last few of years that USCIS was sitting on their hands until last month. Is it the case this year ?

Please see the good thats being discussed here and participate in it.
In the bad economy if everyone can get EAD it will help more. All we need is an admin fix to allow filing of I485 and get EAD benefits

I'm curious if the POE officers know if a person has been laid off? A friend of mine is planning to travel to Canada for the first time. He has an H1b for the past 6 years and approved I-140 and extension. He was laid off for 5 months from Company A but has an approved extension for Company B. This was 4 years ago.. His been working for company B eversince w/o problems.
His worried about traveling. His planning to use Auto Revalidation with his B1 visa. Can somebody advice?

By god grace , we will make sure that Strive act does not pass. Especially, the portion that talks about employment based category.

If in 25 yrs time, someone who would bring skills that improve America's economic competitiveness and strengthens this country's overall quality of life is being brought here by a Lear jet, why would I crib over that, saying I only came in first class? I would roll out the red carpet, it would not be about me, it is about what that person is bringing and the need for it here that determines this. What don't you get in that?
