Sorry for the dumb question. My status changed today and it said " On August 14, 2008, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you". Does this mean my greencard approved?

what are your plans for I-485 filing? are you going to interfile your existing EB3 485 application with EB2 I140 or file a new 485 application for EB2? what is your lawyer recommending?

My priority date is EB2 Dec 2003 and I can file my 485 in June.However my spouse who is on vacation will be returning back to US on Mid July.
Considering the huge load of application that will be filed by the beginning of July , is it wise to:
1) File my 485 application in June (I have all my documentation ready including medical) and add my spouse application later or
2)Wait for for spouse to return and file together on the 3rd week of July.
Does the time gap of a couple of weeks make a huge difference in the processing of my application.

It seems I spoke too soon about having that bold problem tucked away. It does work like I mentioned. However if upon opening the window i first click the bold button then click in the textbox, the bold button will return to its unClicked state. It is only if i first click the bold button and begin typing without clicking in the textbox before typing that it retains its isChecked state and the text is bold.

Online application usually warrants a fingerprinting , it's best to apply in paper if that needs to be avoided.
You may avoid fingerprinting (not so sure on that) by paper filing...but applying is a lot faster and easier. Moreover, even if she has to go for fingerprinting..shouldn't be a big deal...they have ASCs all around...

I was working with Employer-A till 30/Nov/08 and then filed H1 transfer with employer-B. I started working with Employer B on Dec/08/08 as we received the receipt.
My H1B visa transfer with Employer-B was denied on Mar/02/2009 as the contract between Employer-B and Client was not signed by Client.
My current H1B transfer is denied and previous H1B and I-94 is expired.
Current H1B transfer:
Start date: Nov-21-08,
RFE received: Dec-30-08,
RFE responded: Feb-06-09
RFE expiry date: Feb-10-09
Received Denial: Mar-02-09.
Previous H1B with Employer-A expired: Jan-31-09.
I-94 expired: Feb-10-2009.

Since you have completed the important formalities for two.
Police compliant & applying for replacement cards. You are good.
If you need to travel outside USA, you can get your passport stamped stating that you have a GC. That should your travel needs. Now a days, replacement cards are very fast. You should be able to get them in 3 months period. Do not try to give false information to USCIS (Some one suggested you in this group)

My concern is during the H1 Extension process USCIS have touched all my files (485/EAD/AP) but not I-140.
I have put all my WAC/SRC numbers on USCIS website, I could see the LUD date changed against all files except for I-140. which apparently have a different A#.
I m worried, if USCIS would come up sometime in future n say they dont see my I-140 file.

My employer says that USCIS confused with another employer with the same name who is not funcioning from 2003(Or this guys would have given their old Licence number of 2003 to USCIS while applying I140 which was overlooked by USCIS while approval). On this confusion they 'Intent to revoke'.My employer has sent the current licence they have to USCIS. So we are waiting for the decision. But I did not see the 'Intent to Revoke' letter myself. They are not sending it too. So i am nervous and thinking of other options.
USCIS site says that additional documents has been received and they will make a decision soon.

My experience is that you can't collect your passport same day of your interview. After your interview, your visa will be approved. But your passport will get to VFS hand only after 2 business days. You might have to stay in Chennai for 2 days after your interview to be able to collect the passport from VFS counter in Chennai. I had same issue. I was suppose to be in US day after interview and passport was struck between consulate and VFS. I ended up coming to US 3 days after my initial Plan. Good luck. This is my experience from Nov 2006.

I think you are in H1 status now. When your Passport is stamped with H4 then your status will be changed to H4. If you want to work again then you need to change again to H1 with change of status
I have H1 approval I-797 with me (received in last year quota) and H4 approval (which was applied before applying H1). Now I have a family emergency back home. I have to travel asap. My current H4 stamp in the passport is expired. So I have to go for stamping, either it be using H1 or using H4. Since I am unemployed at present I can't use H1 for stamping. If I come back on H4, what will happen to my H1 status? Will it be still valid to accept an employment or becomes void.
Please share your thoughts...
