My AP is approved on 27th, but I did not receive it so far. I already booked my tickets and have only one day left for my travel.
Would it be safe to travel now? Are there any risks involved in doing so?

Well, I don't see a problem with that. If you can file 485 without clearing 140, why can't you file 485 without clearing labor?
We should stay modest? There are a lot of us who have waited 4+ years for labor. I think that's enough modesty and patience.

Is there any quota on filing the I 140s? My friend requested his employer for upgrading his 140 and he says that the attorney mentioned that the quota for I 140 is already full. I don't think it is right. Any inromation please.
There is no quota. The employer can file for I-907 diectly without invoving the lawyer. The attorneys are not likely to help you now since they are swamped. I'd say ask the employer to file today. Else wait a month!

I apologize in advance if people think my post is inappropriate for this thread, but I couldn�t find the older thread I was looking for.
I was wondering what happened with the discussion about the potential impacts of Canadian Immigration on US GC process. I had read before that UCSIC might consider it as an abandonment of the 485 application.
I had applied for canadian immig as a back up and got a medical request form from Canadian Consul. I am planning to go ahead with it. Was hoping to find out if people have been landing in Canada in this post 485 filing world??
Responses will be appreciated.

If your going to take a photo after dawn and before dusk you may want to think about investing in a two-stop grad ND filter. Cokin makes the holder, adapter and filters for a reasonable price. They would make a noticable difference with the bright sky and the green landscape. Just a thought. I'm very happy with mine. Hope this helps.:)

I am not too sure if USCIS would ask questions when I apply for h1B again in future through another company, about my not using my previous H1 aprooval for working in US.
I don't think USCIS will ask any questions if you are applying for a new H1 from a different company. You might have a problem if you are asking for a transfer as you have not uesd the current H1. Before coming to US, I had 3 H1Bs done by 3 different companies(in the span of 3 years). I used the last one and I had no problem. Actually I had the first H1 stamped and never used it. When I went for the 2nd stamping(before actually coming to US), they just cancelled the first one on my passport. Again, this was between 97 and 99, if things have changed now, I have no idea. I still did not get my GC either (10th year on H1B) so I don't know if that is going to be an issue in future.

It is not mandatory to join GC sponsor company while it is under process but it is mandatory to join after approval. Better to consult an attorney.

I think there's some nuance to this. You don't lose your PD if the company revokes your I-140, but you do lose your PD if USCIS revokes your I-140 due to fraud.

I was with my previous company for 4 years and had my i140 approved. Then I had to transfer to a different company due to most in humane behavior by them. They never gave me a copy of the i140 with repeated requests.
But I do have the receipt and receipt number and I can check online that it is approved. So next time when the time is right for 485 etc, can I just use the old i140 receipt and print out of the approval (from uscis site)? Will the receipt and the approval print out work to PORT my PD?

I sent an email to chennai consulate requesting emergency appointment and they gave me the earliest available date. I had to provide my passport number and return travel date.
Went to HDFC bank and got the DD for visa fees and VFS fees and went to consulate at the specified time. Visa interview went fine and the officer said I could collect my passport at the VFS counter if I need it immediately.
I went to the chennai VFS counter for 2 days in a row to collect my passport and they said they did not recieve it yet. The third day I called and was told that passport can be picked up. But when my uncle went to pick it up they said it was not there.
I called the courier company Bluedart and gave them my passport number and they said it is in transit and I recieved it.
So the visa interview went fine but there were some unexpected delays in recieving the passport. Finally I got it on the day of my travel and came back to US finally.
Just wanted to update all about my experience and thank you for all your help.

Third reason:
Somehow EB3 India category has to face heaviest retrogression historically from year 2001 to 2003 end and from start of 2005 with comparison to other EB categories for labor approval as well as for visa number allotment process.
Fourth reason:
USCIS's decision to convert existing labor process administration (which was of two fold: state level approval and region level approval) into centralized administration by creating backlog centers on the name of streamlining and faster conclusions. This decision could easily introduce at least average 6 to 7 months of delay and more sluggishness.
Fifth reason:
Pakistan being a part of "Rest of the world" your colleague did not have to face severe retrogressions as rest of the world category did not face the typical severe retrogressions like what EB3 China-India-Mexico had to face and as it is there are less applicants from rest of the world with comparison to China and India for EB categories, your colleague did not have to face lot of competetion and wait within his category.

If i am understanding you right.....your labor is applied for EB2 qualification but I-140 is applied and approved in EB3. And you want to reapply a new I-140 for EB2 by using the same labor. I believe, you should be able to apply.
Labor certification is not expired as another poster mentioned. It will expire in 180 days only if no I-140 is applied using that labor.
Consult a good attorney and it will be worthwhile instead of waiting for backlogged EB3.
