We should this opportunity to get the USINPAC to join our fight for timely immigration benefits. Now that IV is an established voice for the immigrant community, hopefull USINPAC will be ready accept IV and join the us.

Which service center processed your I-140 ? For Eb2 cases, USCIS ( especially NSC) doesn't accept a combination of degree and experience. They require a single 4 year degree.
You should not completely give up on this. Get a good lawyer, a good education evaluator and try to save the case.

You mean to say sell US real estate for GC/citizenship? I don't see this going very far. I can see anti immigrants waiting for this one. Best is to lobby using aides of big corporations, developing relationship with lobbyists who already have connections, hiring lawyers, developing strong case, donations in election campaigns etc. All of this needs loads and loads of money. Are we ready to donate to IV and build strong lobbying group for our cause? That is the only way to change our current situation.
Sending flowers, sending pizzas, sending all these proposals will only fall on deaf ears. Congress understands language of money to pass laws, Rest of the country/orgranizations understand language of laws/court.
For those who think assisting US economy by buy houses (for pending GC applicants) is like selling a GC are just plain dumb! No wonder why we dont have a resolution to the 10 yr waiting that's been killing EB immigrants, is because ppl like you, who love to take pain want others to live through this for the lifetime.
People have been waiting for 10+ years here waiting to get GC, waiting patiently, waiting so patiently that we are getting mentally sick waiting and waiting. How do u think the quota system is ..its not fair in the first place for EB immigrants when we are already here on H/L visas... . So dude pls stop ur bull shit and dont discourage by coming up with ridiculous statements "You mean to say sell US real estate for GC/citizenship?"
We the prospective, EB immigrants want to settle here. Its more than a home here already if you are living and paying taxes for 10+ years.. We just want to buy a house and a permanent visa status is only going to help. Its a win-win situation for both sides....

I would strongly urge IV to take this and would be willing help and have a dialogue with any state/congress representative they want me to.... How do u think it wont' fly. US govt is spending and bailing out trillions of dollars to help cure this cause. If we buy houses, it is only going to help the cause. Most of us have good credit score and can afford to buy houses, this will only help the very thing that the govt. is trying to stabilize.
I'm surprised, how come IV is not aggressively pursuing this. What better way to help everyone here. If they want to address the fundamental issues they certainly can, but this the immediate focus and like quota recapture, will provide immediate relief to decades long wait for applicants!
So pls stop disparaging the effort. Its a good cause for both sides.
We want to be a permanent resident and contribute to US economy. So help us god!

Please stop dreaming. if you want to influence, go meet them! that remain's iv's official word on the matter too...see the meet the lawmaker campaign. and if you already have...you have my respect, you are too good in that case to waste your time complaining about this stuff.

I personally don't think any dramatic change will occur by december. You should probably follow your lawyer. This is a reasonable guess based on warnings issued in the November bulletin and assuming that even if any positive legislation is passed there will not be any movement in December bulletin - such movement would occur only later.

Recently I returned after a one month trip to India. At DC airport the CBP secondary inspection officer grilled us rough. First he called my wife and asked why did we leave US. She told that since my parents are old and not in good health we visited them. Then he started asking for documents proving it. And told us that without documents he won't let us enter. He went on to say that AP is only on humanitarian basis and unless CBP officer is satisfied with proof they cannot allow AP holder to enter. Finally after convincing him for another 30 min he let us in.
This was a really shocking experience. Are employment based GC's AP supposed to be treated like humanitarian AP? or was the CBP officer over reacting? Gurus please throw some light.
Tough Luck for you. I entered thro AP yesterday in chicago. Guess what the officer did not even talk a single word. He saw the document stamped and let me in. all it took was 5 minutes.

Now that Desi consultant companies are under scanner, i hope employees working for them get their long overdue justice.
H1B has become synonym for visa abuse bcoz of these moron's. I hope the system comesout clean.
Rather than targeting small H1 consulting companies...they have to target big IT firms with thousands of L1 visa. Thats bigger then the H1Bs...There is only 65K H1B per years. No one knows how many L1 visa they are issuing every year and there is no accountability.
Also the wage is too low.

CIR will cater for a larger audience and as such it will most likely generate greater emotional response and debate. Also, given the current economic climate, "Employment Based" is not the most favorable buzz word for anyone on Capitol Hill.
We have to keep in mind that unemployment might still not improve until second quarter of next year and if the CIR is brought up this year, "Employment Based" bits in the bill are not going to get a lot of support.
In the end, the CIR may or may not even pass. So if we shoot for just one target and miss it, we lose our opportunity for this year.
If this "family bill" has been introduced which surely does not go all the way, but still indirectly goes a long, long way in alleviating the current EB problems, why not back it? This bill too may not go anywhere but the support it generates might help in the end so that some provisions might even get included in the CIR. Also, given that it is termed as a "family bill", it might generate less resistance and in the end we might have a better chance of seeing it through.
In the past both bills have been introduced and gone nowhere so it's better to try and shoot for both and hope that one hits or at least support for one has a favorable impact on the other.

Looking at the Labor cert , it says "Masters degree" and NOT "Masters or equalent". that might be the caused the I140 denial .
